The article is dedicated to the results of the activities of Donetsk regional organization of local lore during the period 1990–2000. The author provides various forms of the research and promoting the knowledge of native land; reveals the surnames of those who have been engaged in the local lore for 30 years. The article is the first well-grounded, thorough generalization of the local lore movement in the Donetsk region over a three-decade of the historical period of development. The article is also valuable because its author has been not only a direct active participant of local lore in the Donetsk region but also an official head of the regional organization of local lore: 1993–2003: the deputy chairman of the board of directors, 2003–2020: the chairman of the board of directors of Donetsk Regional Organization of the National Union of Local Lore of Ukraine.

An example of the work of the original organization of the National Union of Local History of Ukraine presents an analysis of the main areas of educational activity of the cells of the NSCU for the current period. The specific ways and methods of popularization of knowledge on the history of the Donetsk region as a whole and its individual region (district, city, village) are analyzed. A detailed description of local history conferences (seminars, "open lessons", "round tables") is presented, which play an important role in the formation of patriotism, love and affection for the motherland, the formation of a responsible attitude to the native land.

The painful point of Donetsk region is the problem of solid waste management. The solution to this problem is to change the environmental outlook of the population. We consider the project activity of environmental issues to be a method of achieving this goal. This article describes the implementation of environmental projects in Slovyansk Secondary School № 19. The proposed developments are aimed not only at shaping the consciousness of Sustainable Development, but also at developing the skills of active citizenship.

The article highlights the connection between historical study of local lore and the school course in the history of Ukraine. The author considers the place and role of local history in the presentation of history, gives an analysis of the arsenal of individual forms and methods of local history teacher of history. New ways and methods of popularizing knowledge from the history of Ukraine and its individual region are presented. The problems and achievements of school regional studies are analyzed on the example of the work of a history teacher. The basic requirements for a history teacher as an organizer of local history work at the school are formulated.

The article attempts to formulate a regional concept of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921 in the Donetsk Basin, which would take into account the local peculiarities of its course. The territorial and temporal boundaries of the Donetsk Revolution and its division into specific historical periods depending on the events in the region are proposed. An attempt is made to correct the coverage of historical events in the Donbas from the standpoint of the Ukrainian Revolution and to overcome the Soviet historical myth of the «proletarian revolution in the Donbas», taking into account the local specific features of the course of revolutionary events.

The author analyzed the military tricks and basic principles of combat capabilities of Ukrainian rebels, led by Viktor Bilash in the battles on May 25, 1918. On that day, the rebels defeated a unit of Hetman P. Skoropadsky and a unit of the Austro-Hungarian Army. The insurgents successfully applied 6 strategies and 6 basic principles of battle.

The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic and legal principles of the formation and development of the administrative divisions of Donbas in the 1920– 1930’s. Specifically, the regulation of ethnic minorities' areas and the laws behind local village councils in the region are both analyzed. The reasons for their creation and dismantlement are explained. The conclusion is that the process of enlargement and consolidation of districts was mainly informed by biased political reasoning.

Intelligence is dedicated to analyzing the social protection system of workers in the health care field during the first decade of Soviet rule in the Donbas, as a region with high specific gravity. The article on the example of the fate of the Esperanto poet Dmitry Pogorelov examines the mechanism of action of Stalin’s political repression, demonstrates how the Soviet power of the Great Terror era fabricated cases of so-called «enemies of the people» and using accusations of Trotskyism, denigrated, the Ukrainian intelligentsia. The last months of the life path of the Ukrainian Esperanto poet on the basis of documents of archival-criminal case from the funds of the Branch State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine are covered.

The main problems of socialization of repatriated Soviet citizens in the first post-war years are studied on the base of a wide range of published and archival documents. The authorі come to the conclusion that the Soviet government was interested in the return of its citizens who had been taken for the forced labor to Germany, but a long stay of the former Ostarbeiters under the influence of a «non-Soviet» everyday life and changes in their outlook caused a threat to the system. For the purpose of self-preservation, the authorities emphasized the equal rights of the repatriates with the other Soviet citizens through normative documents, but in practice they initiated a strict control and mistrust towards the repatriates.

The article highlights the half-forgotten fact from the history of the cultural Donetsk region – the visit to Donetsk of the Ukrainian chapel of the Taras Shevchenko banduraplayers (Detroit, USA). The only concert of the group was held on June 14, 1991. A brief history of this collective, on a tour of the Great Ukraine in the summer of 1991, is also outlined.

This article focuses on Polish-Ukrainian contacts-related experience accumulated by the regional government of Donetsk Oblast and the academic circles of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University. The researched documents show that the unique Donetsk experience was deemed useful by other regions, such as Vinnytsia Oblast. The results of PolishUkrainian cooperation strengthened Ukraine’s economy and education practices and extended the scope of Ukrainian interaction with the EU, despite some long-standing historical disagreements with the Poles.

Language dialogue status through verse and prose literary works analysis of the participants of the Open creativity contest «A word is in a soul – a soul is in a word» has been revealed together with the trace of its sense essage rendered as a result of creative personalities self-realisation and self-identification, since the peculiarities of a personality language socialization in regard with external and internal factors as well as the main tendencies of the Ukrainian language functional meanings extension due to the research of the Open contest participants’ literary works have been qualified.

The research is devoted to the analysis of the memorial and monumental space of Donetsk. The analysis of the available information showed that it was formed mainly during the Soviet era. Objects established in the years of independence, dedicated to people whose activities were related to the Donetsk region. It was emphasized that the monumental space of the city provided for the formation of a specific regional identity.

The article deals with the problem of preservation and study of objects of archaeological and cultural heritage in the Donetsk region in the context of military conflict. The issue of the importance of archeological monuments for local lore studies in the region is highlighted and the continuity of archeology and local lore is emphasized. An analysis of current Ukrainian legislation on the conservation and study of archaeological sites has revealed that it is extremely difficult to perform archaeological heritage functions in a military conflict. Based on the situation in the east of Ukraine, the main content lines are outlined for the activities of central, local authorities, scientists and citizens for the preservation and study of the archaeological and cultural heritage of Ukraine in the context of hybrid military aggression.

The report presents the almanac «Evshan» and the internet-conference «Horbachuk Studies», which are the centers of the cultural and educational movement of the philological faculty of the Donbas State Pedagogical University. «Evshan» is a collective collection of literary and artistic works of masters of different generations, and «Horbachuk Studies» is a scientific and scientific-methodological studies mainly of university professors and teacherphilologists.

Thirty years have passed since Ukraine gained independence from the Russian Empire. This is a sufficiently long period of time for a change of generations. However, the burden of repeating historically used names and phrases is passed down from generation to generation. Consciousness has long been held hostage to misinterpretations. As an example, let's analyze only three historical definitions that directly relate to our land. Although in our time there are many.

The article presents an analysis of the negative consequences of the influence of Soviet historiography on the overall development of local history in the Donetsk region. It is shown how, after gaining independence, regional studies gradually get rid of historical stereotypes and myths imposed by Soviet ideology. The characteristic of the process of crowding out post-Soviet rudiments on the history of cities and villages of the Donetsk region, the revival of historical justice and Ukrainian national identity is given.

Coins of the Golden Horde were found in three sites between the Krivoy Torets and Kazeny Torets rivers. Found in 2018–2019. About 200 coins in total. These are copper pools, with the tamga of Khan Abdullah (1340–1370). There are few silver coins. Coins were printed in Azak (Azov). These findings confirm the participation of the Donetsk region in commodity-money relations with the Golden Horde and the presence of new trade and military routes.

Based on documentary and cartographic sources, the author highlights origins of the name of Zaitsevo-Nikitovka, a centuries-old village in Donetsk region. In particular, census lists of Bakhmut fortress are analyzed and toponymic connections with real personalities are established.

The article deals with the influence of the Donetsk region settlement history on the formation and development of Ukrainian Eastern Steppe dialects. This makes it possible to explain the mosaic spatial behavior of the dialects under study and the peculiarities of heterogeneous dialects functioning, as well as to trace the influence of the ethnic and cultural environment on the formation of Donetsk dialects.

The problems with the definition of many cities and villages are quite relevant, controversial and debatable, and the city of Liman, Donetsk region, was no exception to this issue. This city has not yet been found. There is an opportunity to sort this out. And the biography of the priest Stefan Afanasevich Keleberdinsky is associated with the history of the settlement of this region of Sloboda Ukraine, since he was at the origins of this event.

This work attempts to reveal the role of the Svyatogirsk Assumption Monastery as a center of spiritual life in Slobodska Ukraine through the prism of art works and memories of outstanding writers and artists of the 19th century.

The working conditions and the provision of medical assistance to the miners of the Donetsk basin at the end of the ХІХth – beginning of the ХХth centuries are examined. The attention is focused on the harmful factors that influenced the health of miners. It was emphasized that the workers of the mining enterprises of Donbass, given the conditions of their life and life, were often seriously ill, not always receiving proper medical care.

The article analyzes the emergence and development of consumer cooperatives at industrial enterprises of the Donetsk region in the late XIX – early XX centuries. The degree of participation of workers in their activity is determined. The use of cooperatives by the social democratic forces in promoting their ideas.

The theses investigates the history of the creation and the educational process at the Wagner mining school, which was initiated by the Congress of Miners of Southern Russia in 1909, the miners of the Don Region Army, and Wagner himself. This educational institution is considered as a model of private initiative in mining education.
